Still don't understand what's so damn bad about Revival. I've never been a huge Eminem fan. Rap is not my favorite music. But I've always appreciated his music. It's just so damn good, that even though I'm mostly rock and punk, his lyrics just hit me. And when I listened to Revival I thought it was a very good album by an artist that's takingWalk On Water and In Your Head are the realest Eminem songs of the last 3 years. That's it. Just felt like saying it. Agree, but imo I like the message on Castle and Arose. Revival and Encore suffer from the same problem. The start and end of each album are great, it’s just the few songs in the middle that really drag it down imo. As you grow you start to realise what gem of a song this and “Hurt”. This song has such deep layer of meaning. You don’t see the famous eminem in this song, all you see is a man who had a failed marriage, disturbed childhood and lost his closest friend. He poured his heart out on this one. Something that I’d listen to while drinking I mean first of all young Eminem would’ve been impressed with the rhymes and bars in Walk on Water so I doubt he would’ve hated on the song just based on the lyricism. But secondly “sometimes I think there’s nothing to live for, I almost break down and cry”, “My insecurities could eat me alive”.
